Albanuova Cooperative is a business located in the Vittorito (AQ) territory: one of the little villages which lie in the land once inhabited by the Peligni tribe.
Its name is probably linked to the ancient prehistoric lake called “Pelino” which, later, gave the name to the whole Valle Peligna.
Albanuova Cooperative is a membership oil mill which works and transforms the olives to obtain extra virgin olive oil, sells extra virgin olive oil in various packages, from 0,75lt bottles to 3 and 5lt cans, and sells lemon flavoured oil.
Albanuova Cooperative oil comes from olive groves located between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso Mountain.
Their fruits mainly belong to two varieties: the first one is called “Rustica”, botanically classified “intosso”, the second one called “gentile”.
They grow in a cool and dry climate which protects them from the olive fly. Olives are picked by hand by the cooperative members and other farmers in the surroundings. Our oil is green in colour with hints of yellow.
It has a strong olive scent and a fruity taste with ripe tomato aftertaste. The milling is rapidly made not later than 24 hours in order to get an oil rich in polyphenols with low acidity.
